I am in need of some counselling/advice. I am returning to Wheaton College next week, the (hip) evangelical learning center of the US. Musical tastes are vanilla and everyone's favorite band is U2. As a long-time U2 fan myself, I understand completely the effects of BF (I first had them after watching Rattle and hum for three hours straight, hearing "Bloody Sunday" in my head all day long when it's NOT EVEN MY FAVORITE U2 SONG) but am returning to an unhealthy environment of dorm rooms blasting "Vertigo" (the BF anthem) inhabited by kids who think they understand music. I've been on a healthy diet of Interpol lately, but I'm afraid of peer pressure and a negative musical atmosphere. Any advice on how to counteract this?

I got blindsided by my BF. Still basking in the glow of Springsteen\'s brilliant speech inducting U2 to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I was in no way prepared for it when at The Grammies, Bono spouted the same old ( but new ) poetic slogans all night from the Winners Podium and capped it all off by kissing Gwen Stefani\'s pregnant belly for us all to see.

After 25 years, I woke up from the dream and knew I was done. Its been hard. The other night at McCreary\'s, I was well into my pint of Guiness when the opening strains of Joshua Tree reached my ears.

I drank up and got out of there. Recovery is a lonely place where the streets have no name. Crap, I did it again. Well, one day at a time...

I\'m seriously \'stuck in a moment that I can\'t get out of\'! I almost \'threw a brick through the window\'!

Time for some new tunes!
