I have recently concluded a study of the dreaded
BF syndrome, and I have concluded that finding a
complete cure will take billions of Dollars of gvernment
funding. Nothing like this has been seen since the
early outbreak of JLF syndrome in the late sixties.
With the retreat of John Lennon Fatigue syndrome,
we thought this ailment was gone forever.
Now with the advent of this illness Some believe
to be a sever mutation of the earlier form) We
thought we had it licked in the early days, and
some of us thought that after the Zooropa strain,
that indeed we had gained ground.
Suddenly and without warning, the "AYCLB"
mutation occured, and the illness spread like
wildfire, further cemented by the "HTDAAB"
mutation.
I am convinced that this will likely be the end
of life as we know it. Some have posited that
this may not be that glum.
After apocolypse comes recovery. Some say that
it is truly the next step in our evolution. Becoming
more world aware, wearing cool shades...
I though am uncertain, but wish you all well
as we tumble towards uncertainty.
And God help us. |

It’s all happening again…. Heart palpitations,
lose of appetite, watching the videos after my wife
goes to bed.
I thought my BF went into remission after I worked
through the personal loss and pain of having the
final Vertigo concert in Honolulu cancelled last
April (I was going to fly from California). I started
reading books and articles on subjects unrelated
to Africa and those we do not speak of. I returned
to blogging about the normal stuff of life: kids,
vacations, photography. I was even listening to
Enya again.
But they announced last week that dates for the
rescheduled Hawaii concert would be forthcoming.
That triggered my BF. I listen to those we do not
speak of constantly and check their website almost
hourly. I bought a couple of CDs on eBay that I
didn’t already have and planned multiple scenarios
for a coming trip to Aloha stadium! I started wearing
my WWBD bracelet again.
It’s been eight days since they announced
the rescheduling of the tour – why won’t
they give us the dates? And then, a horrible thought
comes to mind: maybe they have told everyone but
me, maybe they don’t want me there....
Help! |

Although I would say that I can feel the onset
of BF now, my primary concern is for all of my friends
I can tell are headed down that rough road even
now.
Awareness and communication are vital for us
to get a grip on this epi-meme-ic.

A friend of mine led me to this safe haven. Even
right now my wife is nagging on me for playing U2
everywhere. In the car, in the house. In the day
and in the night. Everywhere and all the time. I
keep telling her I can't help myself for listening
to the best band in the world with the greatest
singer/songwriter in it.
I am sorry to even ask but I listen to U2 all the
time for quite some years now but I am not tired
yet of it... is that ok? Or is it simply denial?
Thanks . |

I was thinkin' of just reading a few posts, but
I couldn't let this one pass without responding
somehow. While I agree it's easy to be disheartened
by the immensity of the African problem, my understanding
of the gospel is that God calls us to make the effort
("If you love me, Peter, feed my sheep"),
not to haggle about how much success we will see
with our own eyes. A tough discipline, I know. Secondly,
I think Europeans and the U.S. still owe Africa
something, because we did a lot to create the political
climates which gave rise to the goons mentioned
in your post. I just read _The Poisonwood Bible_,
a great novel and a good reminder about the Belgian
Congo (which became Zaire, then Dem. Republic of
Congo a few years back). Zaire's Mbutu, one of those
classically corrupt African "goons", was
more or less put in power through the manipulations
of the Eisenhower-era CIA and others more concerned
with commie-hating than with providing genuine support
--spiritual, eco! nomic or otherwise. So if we're
not obligated to help clean up what's partly our
own mess, where is the responsibility that Jesus
calls us to? Bono's just being persistent, according
to the nudging of the Spirit within him, in attending
to "our brothers" across the pond? So
if you want to avoid Africa Fatigue, as well as
Bono Fatigue, then ask the Spirit what you can actually
*do* rather than just listening to all the pro and
con chatter. |

Yo,
I am in a pre-bf phase. Having been a fan since
the early '80s I have only had marginal intake for
the last 20 years. However, I am just coming down
from a massive amount of "Cash" intake.
(this is not because of the movie for all you "posers"
out there). This has led me to examine those who
respected J.R. After reading "Conversations"
I have began to enjoy U2 all over again. Where is
the proper line to avoid BF????
Anyone remember when the only cause for U2 was Ireland
and Nicaragua??
